Hifu Treatment

Hifu Treatment

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. This treatment lifts and tightens the skin as well as contours the body by targeting various depths of the body’s tissues. It targets the deep layers of the skin thereby boosting the collagen and elastin production. The procedure is quick, tolerable and has no downtime.

The HIFU treatment is mostly done for the face though other areas on the body can undergo the same treatment. These areas include the décolletage, abdomen, arms, thighs and buttocks. It is mostly used for weight loss on these areas.

HIFU energy here is used for targeting and destroying fat cells. The treatment works well for body contouring in cases of abdominal fat, post pregnancy tummy, under arms, thighs and buttocks. It is also used as a non-surgical treatment for bum lifting. It promotes fat and inch loss and skin tightening at the same time.

HIFU treatment for the face

An ideal candidate for HIFU face treatment should have;

  • Sagging skin along the eyelids and cheeks
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Undefined jawline
  • Drooping skin around the mouth area
  • Thin skin with crepe paper like texture

HIFU treatment improves the skin pores, elasticity, tone and brightness as well as tightening the skin and gets rid of wrinkles.

The Procedure

After reviewing the patient’s history and being satisfied by it a full facial cleansing is performed on the patient then ultrasound gel is applied on the patient’s neck and face. A HIFU device is then used to deliver ultrasound energy to the skin. This stimulates the skin cells to boost collagen production hence aiding in tissue repair, healing and rejuvenation. During the procedure the patient might feel some slight prickling or some heat under the skin. Depending on the skin severity of the problem each treatment lasts between thirty to sixty minutes.

Post Treatment

After the procedure there might be mild soreness on the treatment area but this fades away quickly. Some pain medication and facial creams which protect the face from UV rays and environmental factors may be prescribed. Since there is no downtime the patient can resume the daily activities immediately after the procedure as long as he/she is wearing the sun protection creams.

For optimal results the HIFU treatments should be done for 4-6 weeks at an interval of three to four months.
